Its May already!...
and it traditionally marks the end of winter and the beginning of summer,
and we (optimistically) look forward to bright sunny days!!!! ( pretty please)
The MayDay Bank Holiday, to me,  is a village affair!!!,
as in, dancing around maypoles, homemade cake stalls and scrumpy cider!
( yes I know, this is not very cool for me to admit to, but you have to remember
I was brought up in rural Gloucestershire....say no more)
changing the subject ( before I admit to anything else I might regret)
Did you know that young girls used to rush out into the garden
to wash their faces in the morning May dew!!!!

( no not me..I'm not that old!)
Why? because the May Dew has magic properties
that will give you a beautiful complexion all through the year
and remove freckles and spots!!!!!!! oh, if only it was that simple.....
maybe we could start a new trend...what do you think?
let me know if you try it....umm....
bottled May Dew on the shelves next year............

Just love these funky animal doorstops from
www.strawberryfool.co.uk

I think they are a fun way to keep those doors ajar and to let in the cool fresh spring air!
makes a change from a house brick!!!!  don't ask!
They have a good selection of these cheeky animals from "fat cats" to a "farmyard pig!"
(so that covers just about everyone I know!!) A great birthday pressie .
You will find  lots more original and unusual stuff on their site, so go take a peek.

Firstly .....Whoops!!
A whole month late in writing this
"weekly" blog!....
its scarey...where does the time go?!!
But I am sure you will understand why????
( N.B. blog dated 17th March..new arrival)
On that note,  the word "organisation" springs to mind...cue
www.mumsoffice.co.uk
Most diaries/calendars have been designed with one user in mind,
if like us you have to coordinate and schedule for more than one
ie. yourself, kids, hubbies, partners, dogs, personal trainer!!....etc) then the goodies found at mums office could be your answer to complete organisation heaven!

Fantastic news....
Jools and Chris are now the very proud parents of two beautiful little girls
after Harley Mae arrived on 12/03 at 12.03pm....
She's absolutely gorgeous, with a head of dark hair and I think,
maybe taking after her 6ft 5 daddy already!!!! as she arrived weighing in at 8lb 14oz  with very long legs....!!! ( remembering that Jools is only 5ft 2!!!)
Olivia is totally over excited and very proud at being a " BIG sister"
Just a bit of interesting/freaky info......
Harley will share her birthday with Julia and Kims eldest daughter Bryony( now a frightening 11)
you just could not have planned that......"c'est tres bizarre" ( as the french like to say) !!!

Hope all you
" yummy mummys"

Here in France
(where I live)
Mothers Day is not until May so, unfortunately,
I have to wait until then to be spoilt..
I could not persuade my rabble that maybe I could celebrate twice !!
Well, it was worth a try!!
Anyhow....it's now March and that makes me smile.... Spring is here and soon Winter will be long gone..
I'm definately a Summer person..those dark cold winter nights are just not me..
although, I am fond of my warm( rather old) comfy winter pyjamas....
Thinking ahead to those warmer ( hopefully) evenings I have been looking at some gorgeous,
luxurious silk nightwear...all very stylish but very sexy!
There's a  great choice of lovely colours and very flattering shapes...
"ummm?" maybe it's time for those pjs to retire and update the boudoir and indulge......

I have been using
Lily Lolo "in the buff" mineral foundation for nearly a year now and I think it's great...so
I wanted to share this with you.
It makes my skin look great.."naturally!"
There is no feeling of heaviness, "cakeyness" or any afternoon greasy breakthroughs.
It took me a few days to get use to a  powder,  rather than my normal liquid, but now it is really simple to use and
so quick. ( which certainly helps in my hetic mad mornings!!!)
What's really fab is that they have sample sizes for only 99p so you can order a few different ones to try.

Its nearly that day...

 "love is in the air"...
 maybe.. if you're lucky
(or if your partner has remembered!)
Sorry just another HINT!!!
Personally, I can't resist these flower power "lovey dovey" egg cossies from Poppy Treffry.

Made from linen or brushed cotton, with applique and embroidery detail on both back and front...soooo cute.
With the peace bringing dove, the colourfull love or the jolly good egg, who needs the normal choccies and flowers?! and why shouldn't  we have a little bit of  luv every morning with our breakfast!!!!!

Can you believe the month of February is here already, I know I sound like an old women, going on about how time flies...but i really do agree.  I have already started eating mini eggs and that is really not a good sign, even if Easter is early this year!  We have had a good start to 2008 which was much needed after the event s of 2007.  A new baby will be arriving in 5 weeks, however I feel like I might pop at any minute...because of the baby not all the chocolate in case you were wondering.  I have also got brain meltdown in quite a fantastic way...yesterday I drove Olivia to school because it was throwing it down, however the rain stopped when we got there and I proceeded to walk home, leaving my car at the school, it took my neighbour to ask we what I was doing before I realised that my little Punto was still parked on the hill.  Is there any hope??  Julia has also had a strange week as Bryony has gone away with the school for the first time.  They live in France, so she is skiing and standing on tin trays being pulled by dogs and lots of other fabulous things.  Her little sisiter Mollie is loving having the house to herself and Mummy and Daddy but I am sure they will all be really pleased to see her when she gets home tomorrow.. Even Harvey the dog is off his food.  He is the most human like dog I have ever known!!  Bryony promised she would take piccies, so we will post some here soon.  As well as the stress of having her daughter up a mountain without here, Julia's bath/shower decided it would block.  A friendly neighbour gave them some super duper, industrial, drain unblocker and once it got in contact with the fixtures and fittings of the bath it proceeded to melt them!  Big hole in bath, off to find plumber and explain in French that she is not happy about not washing her hair for the next week!!  My little one, who started school in September came home the other day and told me she was on the School Council and they had been talking about re-cycling...I have no words for it, she amazes me and makes me laugh all at the same time!  She is wearing her badge with pride every day..it says "School Council, ask me a question"!!!  And lastly before we sign off...if you got the Nigella Express book for xmas I can highly recommend the pancakes, the ice-cream cake and the chocolate mousse if you are not on a strict diet.  They are delicious but rather on the sweet side of life...god love her for those recipes!

Looking for a unique, personalised gift to send to a friend, family member, work colleague, client or loved one ...why not send these beautiful boxes of orange, mint or pecan brownies ...They can gift wrap them for you and include a personalised message.  We have sent these to friends of ours and they were thrilled...chocolate by post what could be better!!

In May 2005, seasoned festival-goer and party organiser Melanie Tosh, had an idea – to bring beautiful hand-painted clogs to the UK market at an accessible price. A year later, with the help of a traditional Swedish manufacturer and a happy team of skilled Sussex-based artists, Mrs.T’s was born. Word soon spread – through customers and national newspapers alike – until now Mrs.T’s is a byword for fun-loving festival chic.  We love 'em and are looking forward to purchasing a few pairs ourselves...
